Put the work
on the record.
A UI extension brings information or actions into a HubSpot record. It can make a task easier when the team currently relies on another system, a spreadsheet or a separate tab.
Choose the right approach
An interface is only useful if it completes the task.
I build these interfaces alongside the business rules and integrations behind them. We first check whether native HubSpot features or an existing product can handle the job.
Compare the approaches →Ways to scope the work
Start with a task, then define the interface.
The patterns below describe possible scopes. They are not a claim that every feature is included, a live product catalogue or measured client outcomes.
Sales inventory
See outside inventory from the deal.
A scoped interface puts availability, item selection and proposal preparation on the deal. We establish which system owns inventory and how current the information needs to be.
Subscription management
Bring the billing task into the company record.
Give the appropriate role the information and actions needed to manage a subscription. Read access, billing changes and approval rights need separate decisions.
Quoting rules
Make the calculation consistent.
Capture the required inputs, apply approved formulas on the server and record the result. Sensitive costs and markups should only be visible to the right roles.
ERP information
Show the record without duplicating its ownership.
An ERP may remain the source for orders, balances and terms. An interface can read that information where the relationship is managed.
Job operations
Bring the next action into view.
Scheduling, completion evidence and invoice preparation need clear states and required information. Start with one role and the task it needs to finish.
Account context
Explain the signal behind the score.
A useful health view shows the inputs, freshness and meaning behind a score. Agree what action the owner can take from it.
Account intelligence
Put the relevant context behind the decision.
Define which account information the decision requires, how current it must be and who can act on it. Design the interface and approval rules around that responsibility.
Client capability
Equip the owner to make the next change.
My work with Secured Tech and Value-First Team included guiding the client’s developer through repository setup and deployment. Their later customer portal was their own build.

Make maintenance part of the delivery.
Agree which tasks the person running the system needs to perform, then use a walkthrough and documentation to make that responsibility practical.
An engagement around the task
Agree the useful result.
We scope the interface, backend responsibilities, permissions, acceptance cases and maintenance together. Agencies can bring a defined extension workstream into a wider client project.
Let’s talk
What needs to work better?
What have you inherited, or what keeps getting stuck?
Tell me what is happening, what you have already tried and why it matters now. We’ll talk through the result you need and who will own it with us.
A free 30-minute conversation to identify the problem, separate what we know from what needs checking, and agree a useful next step. You’ll receive a written recap, whether or not we work together.
