Choosing your specialist
Do you need a HubSpot administrator, an agency or a technical delivery partner?
Choose the expertise and delivery arrangement the work requires: ongoing administration, a specialist build or a wider implementation. Here’s where each approach makes sense—and where I fit.
Match the expertise to the responsibility.
A backlog of property changes is different from a broken finance integration. A company replacing its CRM needs different support from a capable agency that needs one specialist build.
The title matters less than whether the person or team can own the work you need done. Here is how I would distinguish the options.
Which situation sounds like yours?
| Your situation | Expertise to consider | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| The team knows what to do but needs time to do it. | A person on your team with dedicated time to run the system, or additional delivery support. | Who will execute the work and keep it maintained? |
| Regular HubSpot requests are piling up. | An administrator or ongoing administration service. | Which tasks, availability and response times are included? |
| One integration or custom feature is holding up the project. | A technical specialist. | Have they delivered this kind of work, and can they hand it over? |
| The project spans marketing, sales, data and implementation. | An agency or a coordinated delivery team. | Who owns the overall result and the dependencies between teams? |
| Important workflows need someone to keep improving and supporting them. | An ongoing delivery partner. | What will they monitor, maintain and improve each month? |
You may need to add a capability, not replace the team.
An agency may know the client’s business and handle the core implementation, while a specific integration or interface needs a specialist. The first question is which part of the work that specialist will own.
Agree the scope, client contact, acceptance criteria and the person responsible for adoption before the build. That keeps a technical handover connected to an actual business result.
Explore specialist partner deliveryWhere I fit.
I’m a hands-on technical delivery partner for businesses using HubSpot and the agencies supporting them. I work on integrations, UI extensions and the processes connecting sales, delivery and billing. I can also take care of ongoing administration and improvements where your team needs that support.
You work directly with me on the problem and the delivery plan. I build alongside the USS team and can collaborate with your administrator, developers or agency. We can start with a defined project or agree continuing support around the work you need covered.
If your need is primarily campaign creative, advertising or another discipline, a provider focused on that work may be a better fit. If your current team can solve the issue with a configuration change, I’ll tell you.
Ask to see how the engagement would work.
Use the same brief when comparing providers. Ask who will do the work, what they need from you, how they test it and who supports it after launch. Ask for an example close to your problem, not just a list of certifications.
For a monthly service, be specific: does the fee cover administration, monitoring, new improvements or a combination? Clear expectations make it easier to judge the proposal and the relationship.
